Naloxone is a potentially life-saving prescription medication designed to help reverse the effects of an opioid overdose.  It is used in cases of a known or suspected opioid overdose emergency with signs of breathing problems, severe sleepiness or not being able to respond.

A significant number of opioid overdoses occur where they are often witnessed.  Preparedness with a naloxone nasal spray can make a difference.
